Inside our AMAZING shoot with Buffalo Girl

Buffalo Girl's Terry Cronin, as gracious as she is cool, operates on a level of integrity and class that is rare in the world of fast paced fashion.
Stepping into her Byron Bay studio is like entering a bohemian treasure chest. Chunks of turquoise sprawled across the bench, rare and beautiful feathers adorn the walls, head pieces, saddles and more leather working instruments than you can point a stick at. The chaos itself is magic. Almost as magic as the unique handcrafted leather goods she lovingly creates. Almost.

Terry's bags, wallets and guitar straps are highly sort after. The backlog on orders is huge as Terry and her gorgeous assistant Katie refuse to give into the pressure to mass produce. Each piece is a one off. Handcrafted and worth the wait.

Even our Children of the Tribe Models - Summer and Matilda recognise the special nature of our shoot location today. With big eyes and respectful glances our little models soon felt at home in Terry's warm studio.  These pictures are worth a thousand words.

Espresso Head

We love a lazy Saturday breakfast. Arlo with her Mumma and Aunty enjoy a lazy breakfast at Byron Bay's Espresso Head. A strong flat white, Sauteed Mushrooms and cuddles in the sunshine.
Saturday morning perfection.

Monday morning with Emma Labattaglia

Emma Labattaglia is an inspiration to us. Her illustrations capture a sense of fun and simplicity that that we adore. Check her out on Instagram @e_m_m_a_k_a_t_e

Tell us a little bit about yourself: I'm a Mumma, Artist, Illustrator and Wifey living on the coast in Victoria. I have a beautiful little boy and and am due to have a second babe very soon!

What is your morning ritual / routine or wake up call?
First thing is I have to have a shower to wake myself up before getting the little man Pax up, otherwise I would be sleep walking! Our ritual would be having a full cup of blue berries with every breakfast, along with a coffee after for me, whether I have the time or not!

Rushing out the door on a Monday morning- what are your 5 essentials?
As I am a stay at home Mumma, not yet doing school runs or anything, our Mondays aren't crazy as yet. We do always need to get out of the house though, otherwise there's a good chance Pax will get 'cabin fever'. A must at the moment is his balance bike, the boy knows how to eat so always snacks at hand, sunnies, phone and lip balm.

Putting parenting aside- what are your passions, hobbies or interests? Do you have a project you are currently working on?
My passion has always been painting and drawing. Luckily I get to do it as a 'job' from home although I don't feel like it's work. I studied Fine Arts Painting and feel really lucky I still get to paint, and people want them! I illustrate at the moment for some kiddies clothing brands, which I absolutely love doing, it's so much fun. I get to be creative and think like a child...perfect! I do all this when the little one sleeps, although having a second may limit my time slightly! That's the nice thing about being able to do it from home though, I take on as much or as little as I can.

Let's be honest - being a parent is no walk in the park. What gets you through a rough day?
I must have a coffee in the morning! And I do find even though sometimes it seems too hard on those rough days, getting out and seeing friends so Pax can play helps. If I can fit in some time for myself, being creative in some way always makes me feel better too.

Monday with Amelia Fullarton

Milly is one of our favourite Byron photographers and Parents of the Tribe. Passionate about photography and capturing beautiful images, she is an inspirational woman and pleasure to behold!

Tell us a little bit about yourself

I call Byron Bay home, here l try to live simply with my big man and little girl. Give me a tiny house, filled with a lot of love, good food, old friends, clean air to breath and music everyday.
What is your morning ritual / routine or wake up call?

Once l have slowly crawled out of bed a day will only start after a hot shower, lots of coffee and occasionally some form of exercise (the last part tends to not happen so often).
Rushing out the door on a Monday morning- what are your 5 essentials?

My phone, Arlo's backpack, wallet, hats, oh and baby.

Putting parenting aside- what are your passions, hobbies or interests? Do you have a project you are currently working on?

For me, it was important that becoming a Mother didn't take away what l had hoped to achieve with my career and personal goals. My interests lay within what l have studied for the last three years, Social Science, from this l have been able to gain knowledge to help individuals and work within my community. When i'am not doing this, l have being using my camera a lot more. I found it difficult when l had Arlo to get anyone to take photos of us or her, who l would feel natural and comfortable around. My photos are a way of giving something to others that they can hopefully hold on to and feel good about, as time passes and our little loves grow so quickly. This passion has also allowed me growth, creativity, to continue learning and to share with others the love of family.

Let's be honest - being a parent is no walk in the park. What gets you through a rough day?

Other then my partner, I have an amazing, close group of girlfriends without them l honestly couldn't imagine getting through my first year of parenthood. I can be my true self with them, free of judgement, a days worries are quickly washed away by loads of silliness and laughter. They keep me feeling 25, alive and i'am grateful Arlo has them to love and learn from.

If you are looking to have some family photos taken, Milly is incredible. Check out her work at www.ameliafullarton.com

Monday Morning with Emma McClean

What is your morning ritual / routine or wake up call? Morning usually starts with a Suffolk Park run (with the pram) or lighthouse walk. Steve is adamant we ocean swim every morning so we have been beaching it before daycare drop off and work.......best start to the the day!

Rushing out the door on a Monday morning- what are your 5 essentials? Sunglasses, phone, Willows goji berries (she is totally addicted), bag which consists of willows essentials and Children of the Tribe Swimming Bag just in case we can fit in another beach session.

Putting parenting aside- what are your passions, hobbies or interests? Do you have a project you are currently working on? Passions - Children of the Tribe, home decorating. My interests at the moment have been discovering new treaties for willows lunchbox (so slaving in the kitchen). Currently working on ideas for next years range

Let's be honest - being a parent is no walk in the park. What gets you through a rough day? Caffeine in the morning, a green juice before lunch and a much deserved Sav blanc in the arvo (not always in the that order).

My Home, My Family, My Life

We welcomed the divine miss Carly Brown into our 'beach shack' to take some pics of our abode. She captured so much more than that. This is my home, my family, my life.

Thank you Carly.
